|I have been doing some research on my maternal grandfather William B. Wike, the adopted son of Irvin and Anna Wike of Pennsylvania. He was born William Koch in Orwigsburg, PA and his father owned a shoe factory there at the turn of the 20th Century. I know absolutely nothing about these people, and would certainly be interested in any information I could get on this family.

My grandfather was Leslie Glanville Weeks from Torrington, Devon, England. There is a book titled Little Torrington & Taddiport, The Memories of a Devon Parish. It is about the times of this parish and has some of the Weeks family in it. It is dedicated to Robert Weeks of South Hole (1907-1987) His grandfather is John Weeks of South Hole (in Devon) It makes for interesting reading. My mother Irene Weeks Olsen grew up during these times and knows many of the people mentioned and the surrounding area. On page 143 there is a drawing of Reggie Weeks of South Hill (my mother's uncle) and he tells about WW I. Some of the sons of John Weeks ( 4 brothers) emigrated to Canada and changed the spelling of their last name to Weekes. If there are relatives of any part of the family or anyone who has geneology farther back I'd love to hear from them.

Hi again I've just been reading the other comments and every1 is helping by telling their family history so here goes... my grandfather george married shirley Charlton and had 4 children bruce, christine, malcolm, kevin. Malcolm married sue and had me! george was able's son who was JT's son who was John's son who was Jason's and susan wykes's son. I live in Brisbane but the rest of my family live in nsw around Yeoval. I actually was born and raised in Hong Kong because dad and mum moved over there when dad got offered a job. So I think Im the only Wykes from HK!!

Hi I'm nothing to do with the Wicks family as far as I am aware but I do own a book - Cassell's Illustrated Shakespeare' which has 'William Wicks 1874' hand written on the first page. I can't remember where I got it from but it would probably have been around the Bermondsey London SE1 area.

Having recently married, I couldn't bear to loose my 'Wyke' heritage and so created a new variation! I'm interested to start research my Wyke family tree - all I know is that my great grandfather Bert, worked for Tildsleys in Willenhall (west Midlands) and was reputed to be his first employee. I know that he is probably not related to your branch of the family, but any tips/hints/ etc on how to get started would be GREATLY appreciated! Lianne
