I find myself returning here time and time again. This is by far one of the best links we have for our name sake. I did have an interesting find the other day that maybe of some use to others. Our name changed from ATWEECKE to WICKES in 1581 in Middlesex, England. I still can not make a direct link, but it is a great peice of history.

I am researching the Wixey family history which has had variant spellings over the years. I have so far traced my family tree back to the Cotswolds in the early 1700's. Has anyone got the Wixey name in their tree? Thanks

In my ancestry there is an Edward Wyke,Lieutenant Governor of Montseurrat or so Burkes Peerage said. There is no record of him there but there were Wyke's there. His daughter Sarah married William Irish and their daughter Sarah married Rev Harry Wylde family in England and died in childbirth in 1797. Can you suggest where I should look on your site for information.? Thank you. It looks a good one.

Great site! My grandmother was Violet Wickes b. 1904 in Woodgreen. Her father was Henry Charles Wickes b 1881 in Middlesex. His father was Frederick Thomas Wicks b. 1840 in Bethnal Green. I will spend more time at this site soon.
