Well what a wonderful job you did on the page. I am interested in weekes from London in the mid 19th century who came to Australia and New Zealand. John George Ellis seems to have been the family name ! Greetings to all Wykes' et al around the world !

My father was adopted by Arthur Wykes around 1919 in Philadelphia Pa., my grandmother's maiden name was Sibson. Is there any connection to Wykes in the UK?

A very informative web site - have printed out the name origins info for my father-in-law. I don't recall seeing the town WICK in Northeast Scotland mentioned - what are its origins - Viking?

Hello Harry, very impressive pages. I'm a descendant of Francis Weekes of Oyster Bay, LI, NY, through his son Joseph, and his son Joseph. Then our dates become muddled, and I think there's a missing generation. Back to the search!
