John Thomas Whitebread married Louisa Quartly (widow) nee Wick(s) in Newington, Surrey on 19 February 1829. John was from Hackney. They had 5 children. John died 1835, and in his will cut off Louisa with the proverbial shilling because of her "disgraceful" conduct. His executor was William Wicks who may have been Louisa's brother. Don't know what Louisa did. Anyone else following this line? John worked on the barges, probably on River Lea, but became a victualler (Fountain Inn, Hackney).

I am in Canada and there are not many other Wicks that I have met in Calgary or even Edmonton here in my province of Alberta. I would love to meet other kin besides my immediate family. If you are out there please contact me. Thanks.

Joseph Weekes, wife Jane Fullerton and sons Edward, James, John and Alexander came to eastern Ontario, Canada from Ireland in the 1830s. Lots of progeny from thereon. Glad to share what we know.

My Wykes interest is in Wiiliam Wykes, son of John and Mary, baptised at Coldridge, Devon 4 March 1693. How are they related to the Wykes of North Wycke? Any help greatly appreciated.

I have got back to 1580 on my wilkes, from Overbury in Worcestershire, and Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. Even though it made interesting reading, I could not find any links to my tree. I have gone back as far as Nicholas Wilkes Baptised 17-nov-1594 in Overbury, Married 18-jul-1629 in Overbury, Buried 24-oct-1670 he was married to Anne Roberts who was buried 5-mar-1674/75. I have got his father Robert married 1584 in Overbury Buried 6-jun-1642 also married to an Ann Roberts. This family stays in Overbury until about 1884, but starts to appear in Tewkesbury in about 1700. (Charles Wilkes Whip & Collar maker). If you have any information on any Wilkes in these areas please let me know. Thank you very much, I have enjoyed your sight, and will keep returning.
