|An excellent website, however I can’t find connects to the Wyke family from Whittington, Shropshire, England which is my mothers line. Her father Harold Wyke (1890–1954) was a tailor in West Bromwich, Staffordshire like his father before him, Edward Wyke (1852–1938). Edward and his brother Dick moved from their fathers farm in Whittington to work in West Bromwich where they subsequently married the Whitehouse twins, Clara and Nelly. My great grandfathers other brother Jo remained on the farm and I remember his son Jo, with wife Margaret and sister Alice at the farm in the early 1960’s. Does this sound familiar to anyone.

My father was Clifford Wykes, born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. I love this site, and hope to trace back to my great great great grandfather Charles William Wykes, born in Liverpool. Thank you for such a nice site!

Another WICKS online. I am trying to find out more about my family. Joseph Weeks married Ann Fortune in the District of Stroud GLS ENG on 14 March 1838. They came to South Australia in 1839 and thereafter they were known as Joseph & Ann Wicks. Joseph's father was William. Is there anyone out there who has more information to add to this?

Wish there was a site like this for every surname!! Well Done! Researching WILLIAM WICKS, born and bred in Hayes, London (does this make sense, I still do not understand about British counties, etc) in c1896. He was an only child. Worked for EMI all his life. Died at 90 in 1986. He married a lady by the name of Christina and together they had 11 children....Irene, Mavis, Allen, George, Johnny etc etc. Is there anybody who can help me "put together" this part of the family?

I am trying to trace my family tree and am not having much luck. My grandfather was married to a Doris Virgo and came from the Isle of Wight and I think he had a few brothers. He was born around the turn of the century but this is all I know, if anyone can help please mail me.
