Just in case someone is interested.....EDWIN WYKES, possibly the person who is 15 on the 1881 census living in Mountsorrel Leicestershire, was a witness at the marriage of Herbert Allen Bown and Catherine Ann McInnes in 1890 in Crarae, Argyll, Scotland. Herbert was a settmaker who was born in Enderby, and his parents lived in Mountsorrel later in life.

Am looking for any information about WYKES, names in our tree are Henry born 1849 - married Ellen Wakeling on December 25, 1874. His father was John WYKES who was a "Stockinger" from Quorndon. Her father was Thomas Wakeling a labourer. Other names that appear. Rose WYKES, Sarah Anne born in 1877, Fanny WYKES born in 1879, George Harry born in 1882, and John (maybe called Jack) WYKES. if these names ring a bell with anyone, please email me at the above email address. This WYKES tree branch is from LEICESTERSHIRE.

Hi to all my little Wykes buddies. I am a Leicestershire Wykes who has moved to Bath a fairly Wykesless part of the country. I am at least doing my bit for the even distribution of Wykeses. Keep on smiling when they get our name wrong.

I was amazed and delighted to find this site at my first attempt at using the internet for genealogy. I'm looking forward to exploring it further.
