Wonderful site Harry. I was directed to it by my mother Sally E. Dollack (nee Wykes) of Ontario, Canada. [Pls. check your map of Canada, you have spelled our province's name 'Ontaria'!]

I have traced my ancestors back to Theophilus WYKES, who appears in the 1881 Census living in Little Brington, Northants, I beleive he worked for Earl Spencer. I have been unable to trace his name on your WEB Site.

I'm looking for information on John Dennison Weeks, born in Cheddar, England, 1846. I have no idea how to get started. Any help would be appreciated.

What a great website, it puts my effort to shame. However, if you visit my website at http://www.hickling.org/ you will find another ancient Anglo-Saxon name.

My maternal grandmother is a Whykes so am pleased to find this site as it's very hard going searching for the name here in New Zealand. I know her father and grandfather and could find neither on your master list (born in Victoria, Oz and Truro, Cornwall respectively). Look forward to finding out more.

Earliest found is Thomas WICKS, Old Kent Rd Southwark, Was an Upholder 1814+. Have his signature from the Parish Register but can't trace him back any further. Have checked what I can as was over there last in 1992.Any pointers or ideas? Good Info on this web site and have bookmarked for revisits.
