This goes beyond my wildest imaginings! There are lots of Wicks in Gloucestershire dating back to the 1500s . Some Wykes too ,Nice spelling, my family used it until 1650 .I expect you know that Wix is in Essex .I am still working on origins too , I have not discoved a Wikes, Wicks, Wykes, etc. family who actually come from Wix .

My g-grandfather Charles John Wykes married in Nottingham, Eng. in 1849, (but wasn't there in 1841 census) then came to the USA. Would like to correspond with any Wykes.
