Simple to use, good instructions, fantastic! Can we have one for the 1901 Census as well?

I am impressed. I read the instructions, but did not believe that this would work, as these things never do. I left it until the weekend, when I had an hour to spare, fully expecting to spend the next 2 hours fighting with computer. You can imagine my suprise and pleasure at plotting my first distribution map less than 5 minutes after turning the computer on! And that includes extracting the data from the LDS CDs. Why has this site won no prizes? Why is it not more widely advertised? A big Thank You and Well Done for providing this free service. And no ads and no pop-up windows!

Hello Harry, I just used the mapping utility and it worked a treat! I mapped the PACKER surname from the 1881 census - my husband's family orignate from Long Buuckby in Northamptonshire. It shows the distribution and illustrates the county of origin (i.e. Gloucestershire)so clearly. When I get around to publishing my website I will definately include the copyright and a link to your site if that is OK? Many thanks.

Brillant, as part of the IHGS correspondence course you have to map surname distribution. This was recommended in the student forum as an excellent site to use. Thank you so much.

[Remove the .nospam, it is to fool web trawlers] A very well thought out program, easy to work and most useful! A graphic presentation is far more compelling than a mere list of numbers. Thank you, Harry.
